WHAT IS THE AETHERIA PROJECT?

In the book series Diary of an 8-Bit Warrior by Cube Kid, there is a heavily modded Minecraft server named Aetheria. The server is so modded and realistic that it's practically its own game. Fans of the book series decided to try and recreate this game in real life.

Originally the game started out as a mod for Minecraft, but we quickly realized making only a Minecraft mod would be extremely limiting and probably impossible, with having to keep the mod updated and such. So we decided to make a full game.

The game will be a sandbox RPG, basically if Minecraft and Skyrim had a baby. It will be the blocklike textures and terrain we all know and love but will have so much more to offer.

Modding support is planned, but far off. You will be able to host your own server, but an official server hosting plan will be provided at some point.

A release date is unknown at the time, but progress has increased greatly. We hope to release the game near the release of HyTale, the Minecraft server Hypixel's Minecraft ripoff.
